How I work

I currently live in Etobicoke, Toronto, Canada. I hold my Speech and Drama lessons online via zoom. I anticipate most of my students will be based in the U.K.

As I am operating from another country, I use a booking platform called Fons to help me navigate the challenges around time differences and charging fees. Due to the nature of my business, I cannot take payment any other way at this time.

Inquiry Process

If you are interested in taking lessons with me yourself or booking lessons for your child(ren), drop me an email. I like to arrange a short phone to discuss what services you are interested in and any expectations you may have. I then offer a trial session (of sorts), where you can get an idea of what lessons are like and I can answer any further questions you may have.

Sign up Process

I set my clients up with a Fons account, through which they can purchase lessons and book lessons. Lessons are paid for in advance, and sold in packages of 4. Fons issues ‘lesson credits’ when payment is made. You can then book lessons in with lesson credits.

Fees and Billing

Storyteller’s fees are transparent, and can be found here. The fees have been set to reflect my qualifications, training and years of experience in both engineering and teaching performing arts. Fees are non-negotiable.

I do offer a sibling discount of £5 per child. However, the lessons must be booked consecutively on the same day.

I payments are made through Fons. Due to the logistical challenges posed by my living in Canada, I cannot offer alternative payment options. Fons uses the secure payment service stripe to charge clients, therefore I cannot view clients’ payment details.

Preparing for the Lesson

Please bring along bottled water. You will need a physical folder and a legal pad, optionally a notebook as a homework book. Make sure you safely keep your notes and homework as this is all prep work for your exam. Repeatedly loosing your material means you will be loosing your precious hard work, so please be careful with your Speech and Drama material.

Please ensure you have printed copies of your performance pieces. I have noticed a significant difference in the exam performance of students who physically annotate their performance pieces and keep them carefully and those that do not.

Feedback

I will send through a short email summary of the lesson as follow up. Please read these and keep track of your child’s process. With on line lessons, tutors no longer have the easy opportunity of having a quick debrief over the doorstep at pick up time, as is made possible with in-person lessons.
